In August 2023, the young climbing community of Malawi in southeast Africa took part in educational climbing workshops through the Global Climbing Initiative’s Climbing Leadership Fund. Mentored by a team of instructors from the US and Kenya, their goal was to develop skills and knowledge to lead their community, grow as climbers, and further develop the sport for all Malawians rather than being reliant on visiting foreign climbers.

Warming up before exercising is important to loosen up your muscles and help prevent injuries. We met up with athlete and climbing coach, Tash Hodges, to learn what warm-ups she likes to do before climbing.

Edelweiss Athletes Bronwyn Hodgins, Jacob Cook, and Angela Vanwiemeersch, along with friends Kelsey Watts, Jaron Pham, and Zach Goldberg-Poch took a trip to Greenland in August of 2022. For 65 days, they kayaked the west coast of Greenland and climbed granite cliffs rising out of the Arctic Ocean. This is a short film highlighting one of those climbs.
